15 February: Formula 1 Testing - Bahrain - Day 3, Valencia - Day 2, Barcelona - Day 2 and Vallelunga - Day 2
For reference, the best time in 2005 was a 1:29.527 by Mark Webber in the Williams FW27 during Saturday practice. Weather conditions were partly cloudy with air temperature reaching 29 degrees and track temperatures reaching 39 degrees. Testing continues tomorrow. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7, Day 8 At Valencia, Renault joined the 4 teams already present with 11 drivers setting lap times. Nico Rosberg in the Williams FW28 set the fastest time of the day ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Heikki Kovalainen. Rosberg's best time was a 1:10.994. Kovalainen in the Renault covered the most number of laps with 115. The session had 6 red flags. Montoya, Raikkonen, Fisichella, Kovalainen, Webber and Klien all stopped on the track while Christijan Albers had a minor excursion off the track. For reference, the best time in 2006 was a 1:10.552 by Fernando Alonso in the Renault R26 set on the 3rd of February. Weather conditions were sunny with air temperature reaching 22 degrees and track temperatures reaching 18 degrees. At Barcelona, the BMW Sauber team continued testing with Nick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve driving. Both drivers tested 2006 specification cars. Heidfeld set the fastest time of the day with a 1:16.374. For reference, the best time in 2006 with a 2006 specification car was a 1:16.200 by Fernando Alonso in the Renault R26 set on the 25th of January. At Vallelunga, Toyota continued testing their latest aerodynamic package. Details of their test will be available at the end of the test.
