Re: The 2025 Singapore Grand Prix Thread
A fairly typical FP1 with all drivers struggling for grip until the track rubbers in.
Alex Albon had a rear brake problem with a major overheating necessitating fire extinguishers to bring the temperatures down. The damage was substantial and he took no further part in the session.

Re: The 2025 Singapore Grand Prix Thread
A couple of red flags limited running in the session.
George Russell lost the rear of his Mercedes entering the last chicane. The car straightened and he went in nose first. Damage, aside from the the front wing, looked to include front suspension. He did return to the pits but additional damage was discovered and he took no further part in the session.
Next to hit the barriers was Liam Lawson when his Racing Bull straddled the kerb and was then pitched into the outside wall. Damage was substantial with the right front tyre ripped off the rim and damage to the right rear corner.

Re: The 2025 Singapore Grand Prix Thread
Liam Lawson had a session to forget. After the crew repaired the damage from Friday, Lawson had another similar incident, again ripping the right front off and damaging the right rear corner. Let's hope the team have enough spares to fix the car again.

Re: The 2025 Singapore Grand Prix Thread
Following qualifying, both Williams were deemed to have the DRS slot in their rear wings larger than the nominal 85mm. Both were disqualified from the results however will be allowed to start the race from the rear of the grid.

Re: The 2025 Singapore Grand Prix Thread
Lewis Hamilton and his Ferrari were given a post race 5 second penalty for exceeding track limits. Given that he had run out of brakes, getting the car to the finish was a remarkable effort. The penalty cost him one position.
