F1: Henry Surtees Dies After F2 Crash At Brands Hatch
Tragedy struck the Grand Prix community earlier today at Brands Hatch during a round of the 2009 FIA Formula 2 Championship when a freakish accident claimed the life of 18yo Henry Surtees, son of Formula 1 and motorcycle world champion Sir John Surtees. According to reports from the track, Surtees was struck by a wheel following a crash at Westfield Bend; Surtees was knocked unconscious and crashed into the barriers at Sheene Corner. Despite being airlifted to Royal London Hospital's trauma center, he would succumb to his injuries.

Our condolences and sympathies go out to the Surtees family on the loss of their son.
