In the fall of 1992, Marlboro and the CART race series agreed to hold the first ever Grand Prix of New York. With the logistical challenges that existed in setting up a race of that magnitude in the Big Apple, the race was eventually cancelled. We came across the promotional brochure for this inaugural event that was to race around the World Trade Center Towers. The Philip Morris Company, owner of the Marlboro brand, gave us permission to reproduce the cover artwork of the brochure into this limited edition poster.
This was racing's connection to the 9/11 tradgey. Only 5,000 of this special poster was produced. Poster size: 18"x25".
