Predict Fastest Lap - 2006 San Marino GP (Julian closest!)

Post by Tim » Tue Apr 18, 2006 10:07 am

Predict the Fastest Lap time for the 2006 San Marino Grand Prix.
If someone gets a perfect match or near perfect (+/- 0.1 seconds), we'll give away a prize. (A choice between an Digital Alarm Clock and a Stopwatch).
And an even better prize if you get the time and the driver (A pair of Binoculars) and better still if you get the time, the driver and the lap number (A USD $100 instant gift certificate or equavilent from a choice of suppliers!)

Please include the time to the 1000's of a second, the driver and the lap number. You can if you wish include a wet time as well

For reference, the Fastest Lap time from the 2005 race in San Marino (Imola) was 1:21.858 (Michael Schumacher) on lap 48

The cars were running V10 engines last year. This year they are running V8 engines.

The Fine Print
One entry (dry and wet) per user with one change per condition allowed. Entries close prior to the start of qualifying session on Saturday
The winner will be the one who manages to predict the closest time. You need to be within 0.1 seconds of the fastest lap time to be declared the winner.
In case of two players predicting the same time and driver, the player who submitted earlier will be the winner.
Changing time and/or driver is allowed only once and the change cannot be a max or min to try and gain advantage (eg. if the highest fastest time posted is a 1:45.345, a player cannot change their time to a time above that)

MS - 1.29.985 Lap 40
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Actual Fastest lap time was:

1:24.569 by Fernando Alonso on lap 23

This time the predicted times were a bit far off  Something must have gone wrong

The closest time was a wet time!! .....
mlittle wrote:Wet....M. Schumacher, lap 25, 1:26:009
1.440 seconds off the actual time.

The closest dry time was ...
Julian Mayo wrote:Webber L17 1:22:751
1.818 seconds off the actual time. The closest but not close enough to win a prize.

Well done. You just need a bit more luck next time :D

Ok, let me understand this one........you're saying my predicted "wet" time was........the closest??!

What's seems even stranger is this.......my "wet" time was 1.4+ secs. over of Alonso's fast lap, and Julian's "dry" time was 1.8+ secs. under Alonso's........this is definitely proving to be one very, very interesting F1 season. 8)  8)
