Michelin to supply only 5 teams in 2006

Michelin have confirmed that they will only be supplying 5 teams next seasion. A statement from Michelin read:

Michelin?s even-handed approach has made it F1?s tyre supplier of choice. This year it has provided rubber to seven of the 10 teams ? and recently it received an approach for 2006 from one of the remaining three. In the interest of fair competition, however, it will work with only five partners next season: Renault, McLaren Mercedes, B?A?R -Honda, BMW and Red Bull Racing

Bridgestone will supply: Ferrari, Toyota, Williams, Jordan (Midland) and Minardi (Red Bull Rookie team)

That should make it easier to pick a winner next year.
We will only have to pick in what order the michelin runners finish and throw in the freak performance of one of the others.
Though it is big money motor racing so who knows, it could all go a#%& up for Michelin and the Bridgstone teams may be lucky. Hope so.

With the added data coming in from the extra teams, Bridgestone will benefit considerably. Those extra teams are going to supply a lot of test mile info.

I agree Julian. I suppose the decision of Williams could be said to be dollar based but I dont think Toyota would be too concerned about dollars. so unless its a Japanese thing, maybe thet know something we dont (well duuur)
I wrote the word "bottom" but spelt differently on my last post and it somehow changed?? Weird

Wouldnt it be nice to know what goes on behind the scenes.
Maybe Toyota are marketing their road cars on bridgestones?
Censorship is alive and well so shy country blokes like me don't get shocked

Yes Lloyd, there is a censor list in the software that changes a few words. We try to keep this forum family friendly and a few posters in the past used those kinds of words regularly and so we decided to enable it.
It isn't sophistaicated to understand the context though
