Alonso to Ferrari / Rossi to F1

Post by Da style » Sat Apr 09, 2005 7:44 pm

My dad was reading the italian paper yesterday when he saw an article saying "alonso to take schumi's spot" is this true if so when is schumi retiring? Another thing i'd like to see is valentino rossi to drive f1 I heard his done testing and was surprise_ingly QUICK could you u imagine the awsome battles :argue:. thats what this sport needs not pathetic rule changing that might get someone killed like a tyre blowing out at 200+mph cos they only have one set of tyres :danger: ..... Rossi to ferrari would be great, italian driver in italian car good style or better alonso & rossi as team mates in ferrari of course

May the best win in italy ferrari hopefully.....................

Hey Da Style, what happened  Good to see you realistic though  Only K-D left :D

On the Alonso issue, well of course Ferrari would want to grab the best driver in Formula 1 but I doubt Renault will let him go easily especially if Flavio is still running the team. Of course Falvio may be tempted by the huge fee he'll get.

Rossi did test in F1 but then said he won't switch. I agree it would be great but it isn't the driver alone that makes the difference. You need to have quick reliable cars and tyres that grip for the whole race

Michael could retire this year, it just depends on how much racing with Red Bulls ( sgd  ) or having hydraulic failures (sorry gearbox failures  ) get to him.

The fact that he isn't testing as he used to tells me that he is off his best.

Remember:

12 - 1 - 7 - R - 7 - R

What comes next ? :D

Oh no the trivia closes tonight

Hi jayvee wats up ?........

Regarding my topic I disagree with the rule changes cos I think it's a bloody dangerous tyre rule, they should stop thinking about there budget and think about the drivers safety. Don't get me wrong but I think schumi is a great inspiration and driver but I think he's had enough or his sex life has boomed :P ferrari will always be my favourite but I just want some good battles like webber and pedro, how good was that. Rossi in f1 would bring alot of entertainment because he has that mentality to impress millions I could just see rossi and kimi going head 2 head, even pedro has the ability to kick butt as long as he can read the brake markers or stop playing f1 on the ps2, but how good did he regain momentum after 2 or 3 stuff ups. Toyota what a shock to the system good on em it's either the car or the driver, but to get to the point I just want ferrari to start going good it's bridgestones fault  nahh just kiddin Watch italy and schumi will show that he has'nt lost his touch I HOPE.

TAKE CARE CIAO 4 NOW

Yeah! I liked it too!! =) it would be surely be very good to see 2 ferraries racing!! Alonso-Rossi would be a great pair! but the most important is a change is the ferrari's sport director (Todt) who is the uncle-f#%^@! who doesn't let the guys race...
About the tyres, don't worry!! it is not dangerous at all! no matter the regulations the tyres WILL ALWAYS be on the limitso it's not more nor less dangerouse. As Michline said "we can do tyres which last for 300000 Kms" ... in fact the new rule seems to be good as the drivers hability to manage them in more important now and it can lead to interesting changes at the last stage of close races... ;)
we need somebody to put presure on Alonso (McLaren, or Ferrari and williams later) and races will become a lot better (still first 3 have been Great =)

Cheers!

Da Style, you can't have everything. The entertainment we had from de la Rosa was mainly because of the tyres, he took care of them (or his car did  ) while Webber and Barrichello were struggling with theirs. Had they been on new tyres after their last pit stop we would have never seen that. I also agree with sgd that the tyres will be on the limit and don't forget that in the past they used to race on one set. The number of tyre failures haven't increased either I don't think.

As for Michael's touch, well the record speaks for itself

Why the 3 week wait :(

Rossi tested a Ferrari last year. Had some monumental spins, and walked away somewhat pensive aabout F1

This is a little something I found.....................

Rossi may well decide to head to Formula One should he take the title again in 2005.

Speaking to Tuttosport Valentino's father admitted that if his son is to make a career in Formula One, 2006 is the right year to try as he is out of contract that year and still young enough to make the move.

"It would be great if Rossi could enter Formula One with the Ferrari team, Rossi Snr told the Italian publication. During the test session at Fiorano in April he was pretty quick in the Ferrari. He already knows now how to drive a Formula One car."

Should Rossi decide Formula One is for him, he would not be short on offers from the top teams...

Rossi have not shown anything that would make him a serious selection for a seat in F1. He is an awesomly talented Motorcycle racer, but that does not naturally make him any good in F1.

News "about" Alonso related to this thread... Will we have news at Monaco GP?? =)
I'd prefer to see him in Renault for more time, the teams is around him and the car is very fast (and with the right tyres! ;)), why should he shift??
Cheers!

Should Valentino Rossi move to F1?
Yes
No

???

It depends on if he's fast enough in a F1 car....
I haven't seen nothing outstanding from him in his tests (beside of his spins... ;))

This is true, however there is decent enough reason to believe that he could make the switch successfully. Damon Hill did it. Mike Hailwood did it in the 60s. I think even Froilan Gonzalez "the Pampas Bull" raced motorbikes before Formula 1 like in the 30s or something.

I was in Spain and saw him race. He is like the "Ayrton Senna" of motorcycles. He is supremely talented.

Keep hope alive! :D

K-D, your moniker is the same as my late great dog. Rock on!
