Oh, Crypes!! So what if he is not a nice person?!!! Hamilton is no different than Michael Schumacher. He is articulate and charming especially with the press. On track, he is a monster. Some guys are straight poopholes with the press like James Hunt, Nelson Piquet, or Nigel Mansell. So what??!?JayVee wrote:As for Hamilton, well I didn't mind him but since I heard him speak I got that feeling that this guy tries to fool the media and the fans into appearing as a nice person.

Lewis Hamilton is not in Formula 1 to make friends. He is there to win races and championships, period!! I am a big fan of Fernando Alonso, but FA could have handled this season with a bit more aplomb considering he is now the grizzled old veteran at age 26.
I came to dislike Michael Schumacher mainly for his desperation antics during actually races (eg: Dodgey moves against Damon Hill 1994 and Jacques Villeneuve in 1997), and his unwillingness to support Eddie Irvine's championship challenge to Mika Hakkinen in 1999. Hamilton has yet to do anything like that safety car antics notwithstanding. He has not crashed out an opponent a la Senna style.
Lewis Hamilton is in the enviable position of being "the chosen one" at McLaren not unlike Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, and Mika Hakkinen were in the past. He has proven he can deliver the goods. He is brimming over with confidence. He is Tiger Woods in a race helmet.
You guys sound like the NASCAR fans who dislike Jeff Gordon because "he wins too much."

I couldn't care less what race etc he is. I'm a half Pom, half Greek, 6ft 2in, thinning, 31 year old, Holden supporting, Aussie w*nker.
My problems with LH are similar to JV & everyone else. He is a devisive character like Michael was. Maybe he hasn't done the on track things Michael did but then neither had Michael in his rookie year. It all comes down to character and in this regard he is found wanting (In my opinion).
He has a burning desire to be 2007 WDC same as FA & Kimi but neither of these guys character are being questioned like Lewis's because they don't bring it on themselves like he does.
You may not agree with it but that is how I see it & it seems I'm not on my own.
Personally I would like Massa to take care of Hamilton & let FA & Kimi fight for the championship. That I believe would be the best result for F1.
& on that note GO WEBBO!!!!!!!

Right. Let me see if I have this correct: Bundy says he hates Lewis because he is somehow unsporting. Or something. And JacFan (usually I agree with him, by the way) says he agrees with Bundy. 100 percent.
That's merely hoping. Incidentally I happen to support that hope wholeheartedlyJim Watt wrote:But didn't Bundy call, in that same message, for Felipe to "take Lewis out" so that Kimi and Fernando could contend for the WDC?![]()
Forward our agenda? Bit dramatic ain't it?Jim Watt wrote:So it isn't underhanded if it forwards YOUR agenda?![]()
I think there is a misunderstanding here. I do not hate Hamilton because he wins too much. I do not hate Gordon either... The reason why I dislike Hamilton is that he does not know his place on or off the track (mostly off the track). Big words and "I am the One!" attitude is just tasteless. I just wish that something will happen to his car and make him lose the WDC title. That'll put him in his place and rightfully so.Jim Watt wrote:So I am beginning to understand now: It's TRUE that what's wrong with Jeff Gordon (sorry, I know this is F1, but Jeff wasn't MY example; he was someone else's in this long strange and somewhat incoherent thread) and Michael Schumacher is that they win too many races --if you hate Jeff and Michael.
Beg to differ. If the SC incident had happened to Alonso he'd have gotten a sizable penalty for sure.Jim Watt wrote:And if the only way for your driver to win is to be underhanded, then it isn't underhanded. Of course, that's only true as long as he isn't caught. Then he's a victim of unfair application of the rules.
I shall hibernate in peace only after Hamilton loses the title.Jim Watt wrote:I think we're all ready for a nice long winter's nap and brain cell regeneration.
