Jan.20 (GMM) Chiefs at two formula one teams have confirmed their belief that the current specification of Ferrari's new F60 single seater is not legal.
A German magazine on Monday said the newly launched car, which is being tested alone at the Mugello circuit this week, features exterior rear exhaust outlets that contravene the new technical regulations.Norbert Haug, in charge of Mercedes-Benz racing activities, is quoted by the German news agency SID as saying he believes the Italian team "will change" the offending feature before the Australian grand prix in late March."Who knows, perhaps we are talking only about the launch version," he said. "Every team knows that the exhaust pipes must be covered in 2009."Similarly, BMW-Sauber's managing director Walter Riedl said he assumes that the launch specification of the Ferrari exhaust was merely "provisional".
