Oct.27 (GMM) According to grand prix winner Giancarlo Fisichella, Lewis Hamilton should be a back-to-back world champion by now.
The veteran Roman, who currently races for the back of the grid team Force India, won two races for Renault in 2005 and 2006, while his then teammate Fernando Alonso became a two-time title winner.But his own statistics did not deter Fisichella, a 35-year-old Italian, from criticising Hamilton's failure to make the most of his opportunities since bursting onto the scene with McLaren.When asked for his opinion about the 23-year-old Briton, Fisichella told the Times of India: "I don't like talking about other drivers."I'll say this much. A driver can become a champion when he makes less mistakes than others. Lewis is quick and he has a fantastic car."He should have won the title last year and he should have wrapped up the (2008) championship a few races ago. He didn't," Fisichella told the Indian newspaper on a visit to the country.He insists that Hamilton cannot be compared to F1's recent greats including Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna."No. He's nothing like them," Fisichella said.
