Sep.19 (GMM) Singapore is on the verge of securing a full house for its inaugural formula one night race, race organisers said on Thursday.
It was announced that more than 99 per cent of the tickets that went on sale for the new street race, representing all but a few hundred tickets, have been sold, with the rest likely to be snapped up prior to the event next weekend. The finishing touches are now being put to the Marina Bay circuit, including the testing of the full lighting system, which will be put through its paces for a total of 100 hours in the coming days.Lighting boss Valerio Maioli said the tests will only be carried out during the day, so that the effect of the floodlit circuit after sunset will be a surprise."At the end of this weekend, many visitors will arrive, many journalists will arrive, and I wish (this) will be a surprise for them," he said.
