Jul.7 (GMM) Ferrari F1 test driver Marc Gene tested the Italian marque's newly launched single seater for the next A1GP season.
The car, powered by a V8 Ferrari power plant but with a notably lower engine note, is based on Ferrari's formula one car of 2004."It's not an F1 car but it's not intended to be one," Spaniard Gene, 34, is quoted as saying by The Guardian newspaper."It will produce exciting racing, allows overtaking, and is an extreme drive."The majority of the car's testing so far has been conducted by Ferrari's Andrea Bertolini, but former Minardi racer Patrick Friesacher has also driven it.The 2008-9 A1GP championship kicks off at Mugello in September.
