Lotus 49 History: On June 4, 1967 in Zandvoort, Holland, the Ford Cosworth V8 engine and Colin Chapman's new Type 49 chassis made their debut with Graham Hill starting on Pole Position and Jim Clark turning the fastest race lap and leading all but 15 laps to score a historic victory in the Dutch Grand Prix. The Ford Cosworth engine went on to score more victories than any other engine in Formula One history and the Lotus 49 became an instant classic.
