According to him its all got to do with chassis set up.....whilst some of the other riders were complaining about engine performance, Checa says that some serious work is needed on the chassis....The bike isnt "Turning fast enough"
Basically we spent a lot of time looking for better chassis settings trying to establish a better base line to work from in future testing. We played with the castor angle and ride height of the bike looking for a better base line. Traction is good but I found it a little difficult to find a good contact feeling from the front, the bike needs to turn faster

And comparatively speaking he is not much slower than Hayden.............I think Honda just need to get their act together....

And as for your query on the Illmor, they weren't at the test....It's expensive to fly all the way to Sepang....They'll probably be at Jerez on the 26th though.....

Nicky can do those times all day....the Bouncing Checka can do it for one lap, then usually tosses the thing down the road :?

http://www.crash.net

MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden has revealed that his penultimate round clash with team-mate Dani Pedrosa left him with a `secret` shoulder injury, which he carried to victory in the Valencia title showdown, but which now requires surgery.

Eager to avoid handing Valentino Rossi any further advantage for the Valencia season finale, Hayden deliberately played down the extent of the injury prior to the title decider.
I was carrying the injury in Valencia, but the adrenalin got me through, I had a good race going until Valentino crashed. I`d fought from sixth and was on Troy Bayliss`s back tyre. I had nothing to lose. I thought `win the race or crash`. There was no plan B. But when I saw `Rossi P18` on my pit board I couldn`t believe it. That was the longest race of my life. It seemed like it wasn`t going to end.
Because of the shoulder surgery, Hayden will miss the final test of 2006, at Jerez in Spain, from November 28-30

Even he has warned Honda that they needs to extract more power and speed, from its 800cc racer if they are to 'stay in touch' with their rivals.....

Honda need to get it together methinks....
