As you should know, it loks like from 2007 the Japanese GP will be at Fuji International Speedway... Currently at Honda's Suzuka, the Japanese GP will reportedly move to the Toyota-owned Fuji track starting from next season...

Looks like sgd's ahead of the curve on this one.....according to the rumors' page over at autoracing1.com, the Japanese-based "Yomiuri Shimbun' newspaper recently ran a story this week about the future of the Japanese GP. The story, if it runs true, is that Bernie Ecclestone and the owners of the Fuji circuit(Toyota, if correct) came to an agreement either late last week or early this week to run the Japanese GP there and not at Suzuka starting in 2006(no mention was made as to whether there might possibly be a second F1 race at Suzuka that year). The article also had a NA motorsports angle as well.....according to the ar1.com interpretation of the article, if there is a merger btwn the IRL and ChampCar, the new series would probably be tempted to run 2 races in Japan, one at Motegi(on the oval, not the MotoGP circuit) and then one the week after at Suzuka(unless I'm mistaken, both tracks are Honda-owned).

Well that's wonderful news Preceded by very sad news, no Spa no Suzuka an immasculated Monza and Imola This isn't Formula 1 this Gokarts isn't it?

This is terrible news! Suzuka and Spa are two of the best racetracks anywhere. Why would they move the Japanese Grand Prix away from Suzuka? 2005's race there was absolutely brilliant.
If the organizers must include Fuji, they should alternate it like the British Grand Prix did for a few years between Silverstone and Brands Hatch.

We'll have SPA in 2007!! (Spa (by now) only misses 2006)
and about Suzuka it's still unknown...

It has been confirmed by Toyota that the 2007 Japanese Grand Prix will be held at the Fuji International Speedway. (Fuji Speedway is an affiliate of the Toyota Motor Corporation).

In the past, 2 Formula 1 races were held at the Fuji International Speedway in 1976 and 1977. Mario Andretti won in '76 and James Hunt in '77 but the race was marred by a crash involving Gilles Villeneuve that killed two people.

One of my few remaining brain cells keeps tapping my brow ( from the inside), as I recall it is a challenging, car equalising, pre-slot car circuit.
