My new idea...

Everyone complains about blue flags, (Fonzi) and says that they are unfairly treted etc, and I personally dont want to see races won or lost because a Super Aguri driver wants to be selective of who he lets through and where, so here is a foolproof plan(foolproof by my standards at least) .......

Have a blue light on the dashboard/steering wheel inside every car and so when a leader(or front running car) comes to within 2secs behind a slower car the light should go on, telling the driver that a faster car is behind them and about to lap you so pull over. They have the technology to do it and no one can complain because it will be the same for everyone. :?:

Good idea or not?

In Bahrain, traffic was acceptable I thought and haven't heard much complaints but I agree this is a good idea but whether it takes off remains to be seen.

Back in 2001, the FIA wanted to introduce a number of warning systems from 2002 and 2003. The first was a warning system to set a speed limit on part of the track due to an accident, the second was a collision warning system and the third was to replace the safety car by enforcing a speed limit on the whole track. None were implemented!

I think that is a very good idea indeed :that: Why is it that you are on this forum and Max is running F1 like a goat herder!

I think you could easily get my vote for FIA president on this one idea alone. It's simple, implementable and equitable :D

One or two more like that and I will nominate you T-K.

With an exterior light as well, so the stewards, flaggies, following driver, commentators and fans can see it.

In V8Supercars there are two lights positioned behind the windscreen facing forward. One is for a fuel pit stop, the other is for a tyre pit stop. That way the stewards and fans know who has, or has not done their mandatory stops, and in which order. This is invaluable, particularly for the enduros.

Even better :D

Going :offtopic:
I don't like mandatory pit stops. :x What is this obsession everybody has with pitstops? How is watching a stationary car supposed to float my boat?

I have Greek relatives that are/were goat herders.....I think you are being a bit unfair to them. Max is running F1 a hell of a lot worse than that!!!

But I like this idea....

Great idea T-K.

I would make one slight modification - call it a tweak.

If the slow driver doesnt respond with a suitable time frame, the fast driver gets to press a button on their steering wheel and permit a 100 Volt shock through the steering wheel of the slow car.

The advantage of this is that Julian - the greater IT wizz, could hack into the system and send shocks to Sato very 20 seconds . . . now thats entertainment.
