The new McLaren Mercedes MP4-21 made its track debut at Barcelona today (Monday) with test driver Pedro de la Rosa on duty.
Race driver Juan Pablo Montoya will test the new car on Tuesday and Wednesday while Kimi Raikkonen will take over on Thursday and Friday.
Pedro de la Rosa said:
I am really pleased to have been at the wheel of MP4-21 today. The car feels good initially, but it is of course too early to really understand it's potential and we need to put a lot more laps on it. We have around 20 days of on track running before the cars leave for Bahrain on Friday 3rd March. As today is the initial shakedown, our focus will be to familiarise ourselves with the MP4-21 and the Mercedes-Benz FO 108S V8 engine, and to run the various systems checks that are required with a new car.

Yeah
Rumours have been floating of Mercedes Benz buyout of Mclaren...Does this have any connection to the orange colour?

If their new car, the MP 4-21, is as reliable this year as the MP 4-20 was fast last year, McLaren'll challenge Renault. otherwise, they won't.

Mlittle,
Mclaren's championship contenter car- Fast & Reliable are two words that dont go together with them for the entire season.
Which is sad though sometimes

My point exactly....that's why I said if this year's car's as reliable as last year's was fast, then they will challenge Renault. Otherwise, they will not.

Renault or any other team dont seem to be dominant, which is good for us(fans).
I think everyone is starting from zero here..lets c in Bahrain.

Orange is the colour they traditionally adopt as their pre-release colour. Once they officially present their car it goes to the black and silver, with all the sponsors livery present.
And orange was the colour that Bruce McLaren used to race with.

Sorry to tell you, Alonso in the Renault will dominate Kapel
He did a race simulation the other day without any problems while the others are still trying to sort out what to do with their cars (especially McLaren

)
And I haven't heard of any Renault V8 blowing up unlike the Mercedes, the Honda, the Cosworth, the Toyota and the Ferrari
The Renault will be FAST and RELIABLE but the rest will be either FAST OR RELIABLE.

I suspect you had best define "blowing up"
