Kimi Raikkonen has undergone a minor knee operation and is expected to be out of action for a month.

Raikkonen's spokesperson confirmed he had an arthroscopy on his left knee.

The operation isn't expected to impact his testing schedule for next season as he isn't scheduled to get back into the car until the new year.

We wish Kimi a speedy recovery.

Knee injuries can happen over time and an arthroscopy is done to diagnose and possibly repair damaged ligaments/inflammed linings, etc...

Although we aren't told the exact injury Kimi has sustained, injury to ligaments of the knee is a common sport-related injury.
