With the late start to the season, courtesy of some sporting event taking place in Melbourne, the silly season just gets sillier. There are muted rumblings that all is not well in the d#$% Johnson Racing camp. Word is that Steven johnson has lost his race engineer of many years, Leigh Geyer. Apparantly he was not the only "spannerman" to walk out the door rather suddenly.

And so it continues. With Mark Larkham selling to Craig Gore there are 3 drivers for the two seats.
David Besnard was under pressure to perform last year, and may have done enough.
Craig Baird is seen as a solid performer by the team.
Bargwana wanted to chase a drive with FPR at the end of last season, but was convinced to stay with Larkham. He will be a tad miffed if he misses out, to say the least.
The ramifications of the sale go further, however.
Britek were in negotiation with Glen Seton who was axed by DJR. Word is those talks have stalled. Boss Chris Jewell now says " we have to assess what is right for us" (Auto Action). Hmmmmm.

Stone Bros Racing have already announced the driver line up for the Sandown and Bathurst Enduros this year
James Courtney is to be partnered with Glen Seton.
Russell Ingall is to be partnered with Luke Youlden. (Again)
Young Luke did a fine job last year, and Russell is said to be very happy with his appointment.
Will this be the year that Glen's Mountain Hoodoo finally relents and he tastes victory at Bathurst ? Glen has had most misfortune that Mt. Panorama can throw at any one person surely. It must be time that the Motor Sport Gods of Bathurst finally give the guy a break.

Replacing them are Jason Bargwanna and Max Wilson

Bargs car will carry the familiar Orrcon signage, And Wilson will have the WOW sight n Sound sponsorship.

News that will shock many.
Jeff Grech, seen by many as the mastermind behind Holden Racing Team, and Mark Skaifes, many victories has been outed. Holden Racing Team is now owned by Tom Walkinshaw Performance Group.
Their manager Craig Wilson confirmed the split, saying " we are undergoing a restructure....that position is now redundant. " Read into that what you will !!!!

due to restraints in his contract it is unlikely that Grech will be seen with another team for some time.

Following on from the success of Yvan Muller, who is unavailable this year, Betta Electrical are again looking to Euro drivers to partner Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup in the Enduros this year.
After testing drivers at Qld Raceway last Thursday, Allan Simonsen, the Dane who has punted Ferraris here with a lot of success looks set to partner Lowndes.
Richard Lyons, a 26 yr old Irishman and 2004 Formula Nippon Champ will likely partner Whincup. He has extensive experience with Rear drive cars, from the Japanese GT series, with the factory Nissan Team
