The 2005 8 'n' Pole Championship

The fight at the top is intensifying with just two more rounds remaining.
indie3128 is 10 points ahead of jack1983 with Raupo in 3rd 2 points further behind.
elyyan, top, Spirits, norms007 and MickDaSlick are all very close behind.

While indie3128 has a 10 points lead, things can change very quickly as we have seen in the last few rounds.

So to those at the top of the competition, tell us you're feelings so far and what are your chances of winning the major prize.
Of course all top 8 players will win a prize but the overall winner of the competition will win a $500 gift certificate for a Formula 1 Tour in 2006.

It would also be great if we can hear from Kapel (last year's Champion) and aabc01 (last year's runner up) and the other players who made it in the top 10 last year on their feelings this time last year and their advice to those fighting for the championship this year.

Good luck to all

Gday team

I'm currently sitting in third, and as it's the highest I've ever been before, it's pretty nerve-wracking. I think this is my third year of tipping and it's the first time that I've had this much success, I think I was about 170th or thereabouts last year.

I have to say I've got a lot of respect for indie3128 for those picks in the Brazilian GP - that took some guts and it paid off.

I feel like I'm well placed to make a late move for the win, but like Ralf, if I go conservatively and get a top 8 finish then I'll be satisfied.

Also gotta give some respect to my boys Del, Schnazzy Mcnazz and Andrew Barry - have some sympathy for us Kiwis for whom the European races start at midnight on Sunday!

Best of luck everyone,

Raupo

Thanks Raupo

I am sure you've noticed conservative Ralf is on Pole in Japan!

Thanks Bigu for the suggestion. We'll take that on board for next year.

Every year we've increased the number of prizes. In 2005 we awarded a prize for every winner from every round as well as the top 8 overall.

Next season we will be increasing the prizes again and that may include the top 10 overall. Stay tuned!

Congratulations indie3128

Good to see an Aussie win it.

Great competition, it added so much excitement to an already exciting season. I got to 3rd at one stage but finishing in the top 30 was the best ever result for me. Being part of a group for the first time made it even better. The tension build up at each race was unbelievable. And I won my group  which included last year's Champ as well as a few of the regulars here. (We call ourselves F1idiots but collectively I am sure we know more than many of the so-called experts out there :D )

Thank you so much for such a great competition. It will be hard to repeat this performance next year but I will certainly try.

Hi everyone!

Wheeew'.... great competition! I managed to get in 8th in the last moment, even if that meant knocking one of my friends down to 9th (hope he won't kill me :D ).

This was a great season, the best for me, and if I would have had a chance to win it if I wouldn't have missed the only race where you don't have your picks carried over from the previous one, the first race, in Australia. After that I tried to catch up with the leaders and almost succeeded. In the end I am so happy to be a winner again, last year I got two prizes, this year I almost got on top, next year I hope to have a chance for the overall championship.

Congrats to all the top finishers and especally to the new Champ.

Hello there. I can't believe I actually won something :D

I've been participating in this competition for a few years now and its absolutely brilliant. Definitely the best one I've ever been in. For me its just adds a little bit more to my enjoyment of F1, but I never expected to ever get anywhere near winning something, so that is an added bonus for sure.

Also congrats to everyone else who won a prize. :)

Special thank you to 8 'n' Pole Administrator for organising the greatest F1 tipping competition in the world.

Thank you to last years champ Kapel, I look forward to fighting for the title again next season. To Jayvee, Theoman and Southerman thank you for the acknowledgement and I look forward to competing against you all again next year and defending my title.

This F1 season has been very interesting with dramatic rule changes earlier on and a strong fight between McLaren and Renault made this F1 season the most competitive in the past 5 years, however our final result was still very close.
