If Yoong did that well and these cars are identical, does this mean most of these drivers are pretty ordinary (given Yoong's very poor form in F1 ?)
Or is it that he is familiar with this track and a lot of others aren't ?

Good to see Will Power up there :wink:

Verstappen ? I think he is too old :shock:

Anyone watched it ? Is is worth it ? I forgot to watch or tape it :cry: Maybe next race
I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

Its hard to say who is doing what. Remember that this is a new series with a new car. May have been an anomoly or he may have found something that suited him a bit better. We will know more as the season progresses.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

Reuters reports that 50,000 people watched the races, and crowds for the weekend were around the 80,000 mark. There was a 2 hour traffic jam on race day, so many people may have given up and gone home.

There is talk that Paul Tracy, Tony Kanaan and perhaps even Dan Wheldon will be seen racing in the A1 Grand Prix series this winter. At the moment the new series consists mainly of younger drivers but as the idea catches on, the level of drivers will probably increase.
Will be a good chance to see how they shape up against some new drivers.

Scheckter and Enge to Race at EuroSpeedway?

Post by mlittle » Sat Oct 08, 2005 2:30 am

The entry list for the A1 Grand Prix round at the EuroSpeedway in Lausitz, Germany was released today and there are a few surprises present. The biggest of them are the additions of IndyCar Series drivers Tomas Scheckter and Tomas Enge, who are listed as the primary drivers for South Africa(Scheckter replaces Stephen Simpson) and the Czech Republic(Enge replaces Jan Charouz). The entry list is also absent one team, as Russia is not listed for this round.

3 other items of interest:
1}ChampCar Atlantic racer David Martinez is listed as the primary driver for Mexico(in place of Salvador Duran, who finished 3rd at Brands Hatch);
2}Formula 3 racer Richard Antinucci is listed as Italy's reserve driver(behind primary Enrico Toccacelo) and;
3}Australian driver Christian Jones is listed as Australia's primary(stepping in for Will Power, who drove at Brands Hatch).

From an aussie point of view, I think this says a fair bit about Jones vs Power.

It has been confirmed that the A1 sepang round 18-20 November will be held as a night race. I have no more details so don't ask, however a sinical bloke like myself could always presume that it is being held at this time so that Europe will be able to watch it on tv. I haven't checked what time it will be on here, but it will be on at 13.00GMT. Sounds like a marvelous coincidence, if you are in europe.
