It was announced by a Brazilian TV network. Unofficial.

Any news about it?

Barrichello is on contract with Ferrari until the end of next year (
story) however there may be a get out clause!
Barrichello is one of the candidates to join BAR in the event of Button moving to Williams.
There is also a question mark over Sato however I don't expect anything to be confirmed until the Button issue is resolved.

Nelson Picquet told a Brazilian Newspaper it is a done deal. The response from BAR is that their driver line-up is not finalised. Until Button sorts his contractual obligations with Williams, BAR are a tad hamstrung. BARS sporting Director did make an oblique reference to Sato's inability to win a point this year, when interviewed the other day. It was the sort of reference that should have Takuma a little nervous.
Question: How many GP's has Button won?

Julian, your right. There's a Speedtv.com article concerning Barrichello's potential move to BAR-Honda. From what it said, it sounds like its' all but final, but it might depend on whether BAR-Honda can keep Williams from dragging Button away next year. Even so, I'd say that the F1 silly season has officially begun.
Oh, here's the link:

the continuation of the Barrichello-BAR agreement news is that Felipe
Massa whose manager is Jean Todt's son will drive for Ferrari next year.

That is certainly what everyone connected to Ferrari is saying. Yet the rumour was gaining strength at yesterday's GP. I guess we will find out in due course

I think RUBENS is getting tired to be dominated by his teammate which is a normal effect. It is fine to come second for a few years as long as one can hope to turn things around eventually. RUBENS has lost that faith and as the season shows this has nothing to do with team order. We will see the same effects with FISICO and JUAN in the next 2 years...
DC was in a similar position and looks really strong this year, maybe RUBENS can become a much better driver at BAR for an increased self confidence to be the team leader. Im sure he will.
FELIPE is one good choice at the moment for FERRARI, RUBENS would only be better if MICHAEL stopped. KIMI and FERNANDO are not available for 2006 but Im sure one of them 2 will get MICHAELs car once he retires.

I just read that Rubens is pretty upset about the whole thing. He says the rumours are all untrue and they are causing tension within the team. He also had a nice little dig at Nelson and his son. An amusing article really.

You know, the more I read the speedtv.com article I mentioned in an earlier posting, the more I wonder why Piquet would essentially "out" Barichello as to which team he's going to be with next year. My guess(unless I'm mistaken) is that Barichello's finally tired of playing 2nd to Michael Schumacher; that he wants to race for a WDC rather than help Schuey, and that, in saying he's signed w/BAR-Honda, is betting that Ferrari'll pay top dollar to keep him rather than lose him to another squad.

juat about every news "factory" in every country is now saying that it is a done deal, " according to some one else". I will bet 100 roubles that Massa is in one of the Ferraris next season .
