Lewis got it all wrong as he entered turn 9, losing the rear of his Ferrari. He looked 360 degrees and finished nose first into the barrier, also taking the right front corner off. Time will tell if it hinder his chances in qualifying.

Lewis Hamilton surprisingly exited qualifying in Q1. Alex Albon was another one to unexpectedly exit with him.
Q2 and more big guns failed to progress. Ollie Bearman, who has been fast through all the sessions, finished in 11th just ahead of Carlos Sainz and Kimi Antonelli.
Q3 and Max did what he had to do and posted the two fastest times in the session. Lando did enough and finished in P2 while Oscar Piastri made it into 3rd on the grid. The top combatants in the title chase are in the top three positions for the race.
Bring it on!

It was a race that just required Lando Norris to finish in third place to win his first World Drivers Championship and that's what he did.
McLaren had their bases covered with Oscar Piastri ahead of Norris on the off chance that a team order was required to help however that call never eventuated. The only possible thorn was Max Verstappen who, aside from having to win the race, needed Norris to finish off the podium. Max finished just 2 points short of his 5th consecutive WDC. Considering he was over 100 points behind in the title chase at one stage, he had a season to remember just to be challenging for the title with just one race remaining. What a great season!
For 2026, we welcome the arrival of Cadillac to the grid and Sauber is re-invented as Audi.
Old faces Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez also return as the foundation drivers for the Cadillac F1 team.
