Re: The 2022 Singapore Grand Prix Thread
It feels like we have just had another summer break. It's been 3 weeks since the last event. Oh well,it will be back in a flurry with 2 events over successive weekends. So, what to expect?
Max Verstappen dominating over another weekend?
Ferrari having every chance to win and shooting themselves in the foot (again)
Mercedes having a great racecar but ordinary qualifying car.
Daniel Ricciardo again not finding the right setup for his McLaren.
This season has been so frustrating.....

It was a fairly normal session for Singapore. Drivers testing the boundaries, some stepping a little over it.

FP2 Results
The Red Bulls, AlphaTauri duo and Charles Leclerc spent a fair bit of time in the garages this session.
Pierre Gasly has a fire as his car was pushed back into the garage. My initial thought was that the Aston Martin mechanics put it out but they were in the vicinity armed with their own extinguisher. Damage was cosmetic and the car returned to the circuit.

FP3 Results
The rains came and, while the session timer began its countdown, pit exit remained closed for nearly half the session.
Teams then came out on wets and explored the limits of adhesion. The track slowly dried however many parts of the circuit remained wet enough to limit running.

Re: The 2022 Singapore Grand Prix Thread
Qualifying
For Q1 and Q2, the track remained damp enough for the use of intermediates with only a couple of teams trying soft slicks at the end of Q2.
A late yellow in the final minute at the end sector 2 ruined Daniel Ricciardo's chances of progressing into the next session.
Most teams took to the track fully fueled and on soft slicks for Q3.
