Round of Europe - Picks and comments
8 'n' Pole players, post your picks for the eleventh race of the season at the Valencia street circuit.
Note 1: Luca Badoer is the temporary replacement for Felipe Massa. If you want to pick Luca Badoer, select Felipe Massa from the drop down menu, you will be scored according to the position Luca Badoer finishes.
Note 2: The Renault ban has been overturned and therefore the team will race at this event. The team has yet to announce who will replace Nelson Piquet although it is likely to be Romain Grosjean. If you want to pick Nelson Piquet's replacement, just pick Nelson Piquet for the time being.
You can submit your picks at http://www.newsonf1.com/8npole/submit.htm then paste your picks here and tell us why you think your picks will be the correct ones.
For the latest Formula 1 news, visit the Formula 1 News page.
The deadline for submitting the picks for Europe is the 21st of August prior to the start of the first Friday practice session.
Good luck

Greetings Mates!
Well, it's been a VERY LONG break; so long I kept hoping to read that Bernie & Max had fetched up at an old folks home with matching dementias!
I think that because it's a street circuit and because Fernando now has nothing, nada, zero, to lose that this will be the one he takes in great fashion; first by taking the pole on fumes then by putting a gap between him and the McLarens and pitting early (say lap 8 or 9) and then coming back and driving the wheels off his Renault
So here are me picks:
Fernando Alonso; 2 WDC's; 21 (now 22) wins & 18 (now 19) poles
his old Nemesis, Lewis Hamilton in the re-juvenated McLaren
Mark Webber in the best looking car on the grid
4th: Jenson Button, quietly putting points in the bank in the solid Braun/Merc
5th: Seb. Vetell in the other beautiful new Newey machine
6th: Kimi Raikkonen fighting for his reputation in the sludgemobile Ferarri
7th: Rubens, old dependable (following a Ferrari out of habit?)
8th & final point will go to Luca B. in the other Red Machine
Have a good race, chaps!
I'm in Durango, CO & have to get up at 4:30 A.M.

A few picking Alonso to win
I hope so but I am putting him for 3rd as I try to recover some ground in the competition!!
I reckon:
Winner: Mark Webber - I think he has a real chance of winning the title this year
Second: Sebastian Vettel - lack of experience starts to show
Third: Fernando Alonso - Only Alonso can put the Renault here
Fourth: Jenson Button - lack of development showing
Fifth: Kimi Raikkonen - practicing for his rally switch!!
Sixth: Nico Rosberg - his usual place
Seventh: Rubens Barrichello - I said the Brawn is now lacking!!
Eighth: Jarno Trulli - what's new
Pole: Fernando Alonso - A good show in front of the home crowd but as Jim says on low fuel
