Well I finally have some really good news.
When I first went to the doctor they did a biopsy on a lump in my neck and found it was indeed a malignant cancer. They then sent me for a PET scan which showed there was something at the base of the tongue. Given my history the doctors presumed it was cancer and possibly the primary site.
Anyway to cut a long story short... due to me fussing about something they decided to biopsy the area and there is no cancer there.
So now I only have to deal with the one in the neck!!!!
Much better than I first thought as the treatment will be less radical and I now feel more confident that I can beat this stupid thing.
With the support of all you guys how can I lose???

I would like to thank you all for your kindness and support during the last 10 months or so. I had a follow up PET scan, which was a complete body scan, last Friday and have just had the results. I am now officially cancer free!!! You just can't believe how happy I am after what has been a very hard and rotten year.
Now I can relax and get on with the rest of my life.
:happy2:  :shine: :cheer: :cheer: :band:  :happy2:

Thanks JayVee and GhoGho. It was the news we were hoping for but didn't know whether we would get. Such a relief after a very hard and long year where the desire to give up was always there.
However it is over and the future is bright again.
