The V8Supercar Circus rumbles into the "PAPERCLIP" for the halfway point of the season this coming weekend.
The track, at Ipswich, is so called, because that is how it looks on a map.
The fastest racing lap in a V8Supercar is held by Garth Tander, set around the 3.12km track in 1999.
The V8Supercar program for the weekend consists of:
Friday, practice, 50 laps
Saturday, Qualifying, 55 minutes.
Saturday, Race 1........38 laps
Sunday 2 x 38 laps......Races 2 n 3.

While some drivers are not fond of the track layout, it does offer superb viewing for the spectator, and a full complement of support races will be run,
Including the UTES !!!!! :D

Don't forget to get your tips into the V8Supercar 8nPole thread by Friday AM.........early Friday am......in fact it is probably better to do it on Thursday. If you don't, then get caught up in the activities of Friday morning, (Asprin, Berocca, finding the sunglasses, losing the keys, tripping over the dog, getting a speeding ticket.........) then don't complain when you are 2 minutes late with your tips, and they are not accepted. CM is one mean Dude when it comes to deadlines. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED :)

The 3.12 km track has only 6 corners, brakes can be an issue. The Qld weather has a habit of confusing the issue.
Since it became a 3 race format in 2003 the pole sitters and winners are:
Pole................Winners
Ambrose.........Ingall
Ambrose.........Ambrose
Ambrose.........Lowndes
Tander............Tander.

Qualifying over. Uncharacteristically, both Tander n his teammate R Kelly had offs.
Lowndes stuggled to get in to the top ten shoot-out.
Tod Kelly had a miserable run.
Results.
Whincup just blew them away for Pole
then came:
Skaife
Tander
Courtney
W"bottom
Lowndes
W Davison
R Kelly.

Some of those guys are going to go backwards in the races to follow, they have no fresh rubber left, with 3 races awaiting.
Skaife is one, it will be interesting to plot his progress.
FPR and SBR are in good shape, tyrewise
