And FYI I don't me George W.

Is anyone here affected by the bushfires. We are a good distance from the fires but have been clouded by the smoke. Lots of sore throats and weeping eyes.

I hope the fires are contained. From what we heard, it is pretty bad in north east Victoria with a number of towns under threat :(

The weather is a bit cooler down here today but not sure about where the fires are. There is a bit of a breeze today but high winds would certainly make things worse.

The weather has cooled a bit over the last few days but they are expecting more hot weather by the end of the week.
Apparently some of the fires they are just trying to contain rather than extinguish, as it would be almost impossible to put them out.
They have been saying that some areas will continue burning right through summer. The hottest weather is yet to come .. usually about February/March.

Native animals are pretty canny with bushfires. most are long gone.
Livestock just bunch up against a fence and roast

Unfortunately there are many that just get caught with no where to go. Drop bears are not very smart.... they go up the nearest gum tree
