On the 25th of October the Ferrari Board of Directors announced that Jean Todt will become the Chief Executive Officer of Ferrari.

Further to that announcement, on the 26th of October, Ferrari announced a new structure for Ferrari Gestoine Sportiva (Ferrari Motor Sports).
Jean Todt will be the interim Managing Director of the Gestione Sportiva.
Stefano Domenicali becomes the Sporting Director
Mario Almondo becomes the Technical Director

The Technical Department will be made up of Chassis Department, headed up by Aldo Costa, while Gilles Simon will be responsible for Engine Department, with both men reporting to Mario Almondo.

Ross Brawn (Techincal Director) leaves the team while Paolo Martinelli (Engine Director) will take a role with the FIAT group.

Ferrari thanked both Brawn and Martinelli in a statement that read:
Ferrari offers its most heartfelt thanks to Ross Brawn and Paolo Martinelli for their immense contribution in the drafting of an extraordinary chapter in the history of the Scuderia and motor sport, which has produced a tally of eleven world titles (six Constructors? and five Drivers,? all of these with Michael Schumacher) and of around ninety wins in Formula 1 Grands Prix. After years of hard and demanding work, Ross Brawn has decided to turn his attention to his personal life, while Paolo Martinelli will take on an important role within the FIAT Group: to them go best wishes for a satisfying future.

There definitely seems to be some form of implosion at Ferrari. Why are they jumping? The only logical conclusion is that having failed to secure the WDC for the second year running and the WCC championship Fiat are now close to bankruptcy and can?t afford the wages. 8)

There was a rumour, a while back, that Ross was crook. Perhaps it is as simple as his departure pre-mpting the other moves :?

Just a change of an era, they are all to old to do their current jobs and need a change.

They will be back and a major force next year, don't you worry about that.

Possible. I agree that Ferrari will still be a force to be reckoned with. Then again many changes at the same time could prove to be trying for most teams. Personally I would like to see Ferrari competing just as fiercelyas before. An 2007 season with 3-4 teams having a shot at the WCC will be excellent to watch.

I hope with these new people that Ferrari change their philosophy and play in a fairer way. It does look like Todt is still running the show

The way Massa was going in the last races it would be hard to tell him to play second fiddle to Raikkonen. Perhaps the two will fight it out!

I was kind of hoping that he will be busy with selling Ferrari cars :D

I guess if we see him on the pit wall holding those 2 radio buttons then we'll know the answer :D :D

Or will he be holding 6

From various sources it would seem that Ferrari will play fair within the team this season. The T car will be set up for each driver on an alternate race basis, and on the same basis, each driver will choose his pitstop.
