I have just heard the worst news. Peter Brock has died in an accident.
I don't have any other details yet but will update when I know more. :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

He was competing in a Taga Rally in WA and apparently lost control and hit a tree. :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

News just in that Australia's Motor Racing legend has been killed during a racing rally in Western Australia.

Peter Brock has won the Bathurst 1000 nine times.

Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and his friends.

Peter Brock R.I.P

Thanks Ed. I am totally shocked. I met Peter quite a few times at different events and he was a really nice guy. He always made you feel as if you were important and he had a really good memory and would say "hi" if he passed you in a crowd.
A very sad day for motorsport and Australia.

It's sad to hear of Peter "perfect" Brock's death. Not only was he a great driver, he was a great person. :cry:

I am trying to get info on the condition of his navigator. The Daytona Coupe they were competing in struck a tree, during a high speed stage of the WA rally

According to reports, his co-driver is Mick Hone and is in a stable condition in hospital.

Yes thanks Ed. I just heard that on the news and he is apparently in a stable condition. By the look of the television footage the impact was taken by the driver... Peter.

From a video report I have just seen, it appears the drivers side door of the silver Daytona Coupe has taken the full impact of a collision with a large tree.
