Looks like Vettel will finish in 4th if he has enough fuel. His team telling him to save fuel.

This result means that Hamilton still leads the championship by 4 points from Alonso with Raikkonen still in the fight 7 points behind Hamilton.

Well we have three people with a chance to win in the final race of the season.
It couldn't be any better really. Lewis' mistake although race ending was nothing compared to the inept umming and r'ing from his team who really should know better. The tyres were totally screwed several laps earlier and a dead hare could have spotted that. After all this isn't rocket science!

Hamilton's aim would be to finish 1st or 2nd to win the championship regardless of where Alonso or Raikkonen finish.
Alonso needs to win in Brazil with Hamilton in 3rd at most. They will be on equal points but would have more wins. If Alonso finishes second, Hamilton has to finish 6th at most.
For Raikkonen, he has to win with Alonso not in second and Hamilton in 6th at most. If Raikkonen finishes 2nd, Alonso must finish 4th at most with Hamilton 8th at most.

Congratulations to Kimi Raikkonen for winning the Chinese Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso managed to finish second ahead of Felipe Massa.
Sebastian Vettel managed an impressive 4th place on a single stop with Button also impressive in 5th and Liuzzi in 6th ahead of Heidfeld and Coulthard.
The major news though is that the championship has yet to be decided as we head into the final round in Brazil.
Lewis Hamilton who was dominating the race early on appeared to have been harder than the others on his tyres and as he was making a pit stop he went wide and ended up in the gravel trap at the pit lane entry and the marshals couldn't push him out forcing him to retire.
And so we have a 3 way fight for the 2007 Championship, something we haven't seen in a long time.
Good luck to all three contenders!

Unless I'm mistaken, wasn't the last time there was a 3-way battle for the WDC back in 1986, with Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost and Nelson Piquet left to see who'd win(after an eventful Adelaide race where Mansell's RR tire went kla-blammo on him, Prost eventually won the WDC)Ed wrote:And so we have a 3 way fight for the 2007 championship, something we haven't seen in a long time.

I'll answer M. Little's question: it will be the cool brit. Although Kimi drove an incredible race. And although I am picking him to win in Brazil, I can't believe that Lewis will not score enough points there to take the WDC. A well-deserved championship, too. You have to admire the way he sucked it up, took the blame, and came back to the garage to thank his crew. That's the kind of demeanor that one expects of a champion. 
Maybe next year will be Kimi's. But only if Ferarri can get back their old form and supply him with a car that is as RELIABLE as it is FAST.
Sorry, Jay Vee, but it's too much to expect that Fernando could manage three in a row.
But look on the bright side: for the next few years we are sure to have some excellent racing!
