What role did Michael Schumacher have getting a race in Valencia. It's safe to presume that MS wasn't in Valencia just to be a passenger on Team New Zealands americas cup yacht in a round robin race.

Just had a thought.................
what if Steppers was whistle blowing on Ferrari's illegal floor, with documents given to him by the White powder Man?
If he had not shown them to Coughers, who had no way of applying the data to a McLaren, would Ferrari still be winning races (eg.Australia) with an illegal floor?
Ferrari's wind tunnel imploded, hindering re-design of the floor.
Coughers n Stepper were both disgruntled with their employers, so, having blown Ferrari's naughty trick, did they then decide to approach another team, bringing with them a wee sweetener?
Or was that a cover, while they n Ross Brawn formed another team?
If Mad Max had one iota of evidence against McLaren, would he not have put Denis, his arch enemy to the sword?
Was the very, very orchestrated media campaign perhaps a plan to destabilise McLaren, while Ferrari recovered lost time due to the loss of the wind tunnel? ......Just a thought 8)

This got me thinking, what if Ferraris floor wasnt illegal, then perhaps the people who are saying it was "doth protest too much"?

Just a thought

Steppers says he only retained the data so he could get Coughlan to prove the floor was illegal, which it was. 8)

By what definition was the floor illegal, the FIA didnt think it was.

Then why was Ferrari ordered to change it after the Australian GP?
Some would say that Ferrari received preferential treatment by the FIA for deeming it "not in the spirit of the rules" rather than illegal......(not me  )
There was a rumour going around European circles at season opening that Ferrari would win this year, regardless of other teams' performances.
Perhaps the FIA rules are like Australian Motor Traffic rules. I reckon I can defect any new vehicle on Australian roads by applying the letter of the law. Highway Patrol Cops routinely turn a blind eye to the more ridiculous laws, UNLESS the driver is an A'hole. A few drivers have watched in horror as their brand new Beemer et al is dragged on to the back of a truck.

Ferrari wasnt ordered to change anything. I'm interested in why you used the word illegal, because Ron D used the same word today and he doesn't post here so I cant ask him on what basis he says Ferraris floor was illegal, because as far as I can see the FIA has never said so, and according to RD the FIA is "fair and balanced"

Ferrari were asked, if you wish, to change the floor of the Ferrari according to every other website I visit including the FIA website, plus Autosport, Auto Action(Jo Seward was the Journo) MotorSport News (Australia),
The point I was making was....The FIA would shaft McLaren on the bluntest sword possible had it been them, The FIA's interpretation of what Ferrari did was....."not in the spirit of the rules"..........Hullo

RD n Mad Max do not ask each other to join them in elevenses very often, RD does have a nice sense of Irony
