Anyway, if you happen to hear a story remotely related to F1, you may post it here.
Unfortunately news doesnt reach us down here until long after the story breaks....
For example, our newspapers only just reported that Alonso signed for Mclaren......

Great news TK................Mafeking has been relieved !!!!!

Amongst the gowns, boots, cessnas, all sorts of rodents and Harvey I will make a feeble attempt at saving this thread:
Rumor has it that Sebastien Bourdais has received numerous offers of F1 test driver seats in 2007 but turned them all down the on grounds that those won't guarantee him a race seat in the future. He chose to remain in Champ Car. Opinions on his talents are divided. Some say given a good car he can compete with the best of F1, while others think he's by no means F1 material...

Personally I feel that SeaBass would not get a top-flight F1 seat, so he'd end up mid-grid and frustrated...then out and back to Champ Car within two years...
In my estimation the dearth of world class competition in Champ Car has made Bourdais look better than he actually is...
Look at the struggles Franck Montagny has had getting a race seat and Montagny blew Bourdais away when they raced in Formula 3....
In the same team....

Not sure if this is the right place for this story, But Alex Zanardi is set to get back behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car with a test of a BMW Sauber being planned at the forthcoming BMW World Finals in Valencia on November 26. The car will have to be altered to allow him to use a hand throttle and a bigger brake pedal but the plan is for a few demonstration laps to give him another taste of F1 power.

You'd be correct on the above rumor, gkaytaz; Bourdais was offered a couple of F1 test seats in 2007 w/the promise of a race seat in 2008, and he turned them down because none led to a race seat in 2007. IMHO I think Bourdais, given a top-level race seat, could still compete w/the best in F1, but the ongoing split in NA open-wheel racing
has so weakened the sport that I suspect no one in F1 takes the talents of ChampCar or IRL champions seriously now.

Will Power made him look a tad ordinary at Surfers. INHO these guys get away with biff n barge tactics in champcars, because of the robust nature of the vehicles, that would see both drivers in F1 cars continuing their duels in adjoining hospital beds. I dont know if SB has the finesse for F1 cars

INHO = In Noddy's humble opinion..............well, its better than admitting to a typo
