The 2nd day of testing at Valencia saw Fernando Alonso once again topping the timesheets with Fisichella and Kovalainen setting the second and third fastest times of the day.
The track was wet in the morning drying out by lunchtime. Rain returned later in the afternoon.
Felipe Massa driving the 248 F1 went off during the afternoon session as it started raining. Fisichella had a mechanical problem and so did Kubica whose car caught fire due to a hydraulic leak but didn't cause too much damage. Super Aguri's test driver Giedo van der Garde trying to qualify for his super license only managed 4 laps due to a mechanical failure on his SA06.
Due to the weather conditions, most teams have decided to extend this test by 1 day.

With all the team help he could get last year knowing that Alonso was leaving he still finished hmmm lets see 62 points behind Alonso That is 6 wins and a 7th place
No no, Fisi will have the "Kovalainen Factor" in 2007
It would be good for Webber too

Thanks GhoGho, the times from the Valencia circuit are just slightly different so they are posted below!
Regarding Renault. I doubt anyone would discount them, the only question mark is their drivers. A superior car would make up for that!
The third day of testing at Valencia saw Ralf Schumacher set the fastest lap time of the day ahead of Giancarlo Fisichella and Heikki Kovalainen. The top 5 drivers set times below the 1:12 mark which is impressive.
While Ralf set the fastest time, the team had major problems on Trulli's car after the team recorded high temperatures around the rear crash structure. Ralf also had a fuel pump problem in the morning.
Kimi Raikkonen ran into some technical problems hampered his running. Robert Kubica also had a number of problems limiting his running to just 20 laps.
McLaren, Ferrari, Renault, Honda and Red Bull will remain in Valencia on Friday for the final day of testing.
1. Ralf Schumacher Toyota 1.11.297 50 laps
2. Giancarlo Fisichella Renault F1 1.11.521 121 laps
3. Heikki Kovalainen Renault F1 1.11643 108 laps
4. Fernando Alonso McLaren 1.11.710 95 laps

14. Mark Webber Red Bull 1.13.796 23 laps
15. Kazuki Nakajima Williams 1.13.945 82 laps
On a side note, Dutchman Giedo van der Garde who was announced as Super Aguri's test driver and actually drove their car on Wednesday was today announced as SpykerF1 test driver! In addition to van der Garde, the SpykerF1 team named Malaysian Fairuz Fauzy and Spaniard Adrian Valles as the team's test drivers.
