Glock improves again with a 1:21.377. Button moves into second, he is on the hard compound still

Currently the top 15 are covered by 1.007 seconds!

10 minutes remains and we should see even quicker times as the teams take out fuel and go on the soft compound

Heidfeld's car is back in the garage but with 7 minutes remaining, it is unlikely that they'll be able to fix it in time. It will really depend if the car sustained major damage

Raikkonen now just 0.082 behind Massa.

Is this due to fuel or have Ferrari made a major step forward ?

Session over!

Massa (1:20.553) fastest ahead of Raikkonen and Button (+0.497). Barrichello, Kubica, Trulli, Hamilton, Glock, Buemi and Alonso make the top 10.

Kovalainen, Rosberg (+1.041), Webber, Bourdais, Piquet, Vettel, Fisichella, Nakajima, Sutil and Heidfeld make the rest of the field.

Timo Glock covered the most number of laps with 26
Nick Heidfeld only managed 8 lap after he crashed into the tyre barriers. Kovalainen was next with 15 laps.

The gap from the Ferraris to the rest is too big to be due to performance alone, fuel must be a factor. In any case, the qualifying will be very close.
