2nd Friday Practice session - Top 8: Pedro de la Rosa, Ricardo Zonta, Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso, Juan Pablo Montoya, Rubens Barrichello, Giancarlo Fisichella and Mark Webber.

Full Results

Several drivers spun off but recovered. Trulli stopped later in the session with a suspected clutch problem.

This session was also under hazy conditions with temperatures in the low 20's and strong winds. The predicted rain didn't eventuate but a few drops fell just before the session started.

It is expected to be sunny for the rest of the weekend

How sad to see Jacques consistantly amongst the backmarkers.
Those times seem quick for 1st practice ?
Bit of a gap tween Webber n Pizzi.
Is Fisi trying too hard?
One would have to suspect that the ferraris are concentrating on a "fumes" set up for Qualifying, from the word go.
Perhaps those members of the forum unfortunate enough to be toughing it out in Shunghai could elicit some information for us?

He was certainly impressive today!

He won the race here last year didn't he Kapel!

Perhaps he likes this circuit ? and it would be great to see a strong result from him on his final race for Ferrari.

No fumes in Ferrari,i'd mixed iced tea

1st practise on new tyres which would last 27 laps  & 2nd on used tyres (15 laps old) which would go at a same speed even with fumes

Villeneuve did appear to struggle with his car today but he generally picks up his pace to that of Massa as the weekend progresses.

Pizzonia didn't go out towards the end of the second session for some reason. We'll check on that. But don't expect Pizzonia to match Webber here anyway!

Fisichella may indeed be trying too hard but again like Villeneuve he tends to close the gap to Alonso as the weekend progress.

It is hard to know what Ferrari are doing but I agree in the past few races they did better on Friday that the rest of the weekend.

We'll try to put a few shots up later tonight

Any indicators on straight line speed, are the Renaults closer to the McLarens if so?

De la Rosa chance for 2006?

We have seen it all the season, and today wasn't an exception. PDLR deserves to be driver next season. I can't understand why drivers as Pizzonia, Villeneuve or Ralf Schumacher are on the grid with good cars, but PDLR can't get it. And after Bahrain race, he showed taht he deserves being on the grid next season. He deserves another opportunity after last year with Jaguar. A great part of the McLaren's success this year comes of his job, better than Wurz's.
I think it' seems perfectly fair to me that teams as BMW, Williams or McLaren itself give the chance of running to PDLR. All this season 2005 is the best sign of it.

Thanks for your Welcome, Julian. I hope to increase my English level next time :D
What about Kimi's performance? Two mistakes or cold tyres? Has Alonso got better car than Kimi this weekend? Speed diference on speed trap, more petrol or more aerodynamic charge on Kimi's?
