This weekend sees us back at Spa, usually the first race back after the summer break. In this disrupted season, we will not see the major upgrades that are on display for the first time in the second half.

What to expect?
Will the Mercedes dominance continue?
Will Max Verstappen get the run and dive up the inside at Le Combes to take the lead?
How about Alex Albon? Will he finally qualify near the front and show his true class?
And those pink Mercedes. They have been a revelation in 2020.

My instinct tells me that the status quo will remain.
Mercedes first, Max Verstappen probably third, maybe Perez and Stroll next.
The big question is where Albon will finish. Probably somewhere in here.
Possibly Leclerc, maybe a Renault engined car with possibly an AlphaTauri somewhere in the mix.

The usual tribe will be at the back with Haas, I'll go out on a limb and toss George Russell into the mix ahead of the Alfa Romeos.

Bring it on!

Both Haas has a session they would rather forget with engine problems.

Both Haas joined the session with about a half an hour remaining.
Daniel Ricciardo was having one of his best sessions before a hydraulic failure necessitated the parking of is Renault with 20 minutes remaining.
A red flag was brought out in the last 10 minutes due to advertising signage falling off he fence.
The battle for last is interesting with all the Ferrari powered teams and Williams filling places 13 to 20.

The big decisions for the teams is that there is rain forecast for race day. Which setup do we go for?

Probably the unluckiest driver today would have to be George Russell who, while trying to avoid Antonio Giovinazzi's accident, was taken out by a front corner from the Alfa Romeo, which had been dislodged in Giovinazzi's accident. He was also the luckiest as it could have done some real damage.
Carlos Sainz Jr missed the start due to a power unit problem.
