2008 MotoGP Rd. 15~~A-Style Grand Prix of Japan

Going into this week's round, all eyes must surely be on the Doctor, Valentino Rossi, as it is conceivable that he could clinch his 6th MotoGP championship this weekend on the road course at Motegi........

----Hoping to make an early impression with his 2009-bound team, Repsol Honda's Nicky Hayden tore up the track in session #1, setting fastest time on a slightly damp track Friday......in second and third were the only riders still eligible for series honors this year w/Valentino Rossi in close pursuit of the Kentucky Kid and Aussie Casey Stoner back in third, 7/10th's behind

----Doing everything he can to keep pace with the Doctor, Ducati Marlboro's Casey Stoner was fastest in the afternoon session, which was also on a damp track as the first session was......right on Stoner's heels was Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa; there are high expectations on all the Honda riders this weekend as Honda hasn't won at Twin Ring Motegi since Makoto Tamada's 2004 win
