(from FR, 15 August 2008)
~~Brno Practice Session #1 top-5...................
1} Valentino Rossi, Fiat Yamaha, 1:57.782 sec
2} Casey Stoner, Ducati Marlboro, 1:57.911 sec
3} Shinya Nakano, San Carlo Honda, 1:59.021 sec
4} Alex de Angelis, San Carlo Honda, 1:59.134 sec
5} John Hopkins, Monster Kawasaki, 1:59.220 sec
--Sometimes psychological victories are important....just ask "the Doctor", Valentino Rossi, who stole one from rival Casey Stoner in Friday's first session.....the biggest surprise of the day came from satellite Honda rider Shinya Nakano, who took an updated 08'-spec Honda RC212V to third on the first practice charts ahead of both satellite teammate Alex de Angelis and factory Honda rider Dani Pedrosa......

~~Brno Practice Session #2 top-5....................
1} Casey Stoner, Ducati Marlboro, 1:57.231 sec*
2} Valentino Rossi, Fiat Yamaha, 1:57.410 sec
3} Loris Capirossi, Rizla Suzuki, 1:58.000 sec
4} Shinya Nakano, San Carlo Honda, 1:58.228 sec
5} Alex de Angelis, San Carlo Honda, 1:58.264 sec
*--fastest time on Friday
--Despite suffering from a fever, Casey Stoner set the fastest time on the combined practice charts, edging out Rossi by .16+ seconds.......Correction on the situation w/San Carlo Honda; de Angelis has the upgraded '08-spec Honda RC212V......Nakano was given, courtesy of HRC, an '09-spec RC212V for the team's use through the remainder of this season.

Continuing to impress this weekend are the satellite Honda riders from San Carlo Honda w/de Angelis on the '08 RC212V beating his '09 RC212V-riding teammate Nakano by 2/10ths'.

(from SU, 17 August 2008)
A rare on-track miscue from Aussie Casey Stoner was all that 'the Doctor' Valentino Rossi needed to take an even-deeper grip on the MotoGP points championship; the biggest surprise was satellite Ducati rider Toni Elias notching a 2nd-place finish(Elias' second was only the second time that a satellite[...read "privateer"] entry made it to the podium in 2008......)

Results from the Cardion AB Czech Grand Prix..........................

2nd} Toni Elias, Team Alice Ducati, -15.004 sec
3rd} Loris Capirossi, Rizla Suzuki, -21.689 sec
4th} Shinya Nakano, San Carlo Racing, -25.859 sec
5th} Anthony West, Monster Kawasaki, -29.465 sec
6th} Chris Vermeulen, Rizla Suzuki, -30.608 sec
7th} Marco Melandri, Ducati Marlboro, -36.463 sec
8th} Alex de Angelis, San Carlo Honda, -36.750 sec
9th} Andrea Dovizioso, JiR Scot Honda, -38.822 sec
10th} Jorge Lorenzo, Fiat Yamaha, -39.573 sec
11th} John Hopkins, Monster Kawasaki, -39.610 sec
12th} Sylvain Guintoli, Team Alice Ducati, -40.894 sec
