2007 ChampCar Series Testing Thread..........

Post by mlittle » Mon Nov 20, 2006 2:19 pm

With the season now done and over with, it is time to look forward to 2007, part of which involves watching the teams and drivers test.....and test....and, well, you get the picture. Here are the basic testing rules the series will use for 2007..........

1}Teams are not allowed to test at any race venues unless they are on the series' open test schedule.

2}Teams will be allowed to test with their current Ford-Cos./Lola's until the life-cycle of the XFE-2 engines are reached(normal XFE-2 lifecycle is around 1500 miles; most of the engines in circulation at the moment should have 400-600 miles remaining....)

3}Rookie drivers for the 2007 season will get an additional 200+ miles of testing prior to the season opener in Las Vegas.

4}Teams will be allowed to test drivers currently not driving in ChampCar without restrictions on distance

All other rules from the 2006 season are still in effect......
