I don't know enough to say that I think he is the best, however I do think he is a very good driver.
As for the best well that IMHO is hard to say. I think Peter Brock was definitely the best for many many years. I happen to think Lowndes is a great driver and a few other names come to mind too. :D :D :D
Holy crap on a cracker! Image

Rah did
Congrats Rah.
The rest of your picks look okay.
The Clipsal has been won by the last driver on the grid, tho.
Several drivers have had to be carried from their cars over the years. Courtney fainted last year.....I think it was S Owen last year, who ever so gently drove in to the wall, unconscious......the high octane fumes lie low between the walls, and track temp can be in the low 50degC range, which is forecast for this weekend

Race one of the Season '07 has been run and one.
Remarkably, for a street circuit, there was not one safety car intervention. That would have thrown some teams planning into disarray....I daresay a couple of cars were on fumes at the end.
Postions after Race 1.
Tod Kelly
Courtney
Whincup
R kelly
Winterbottom
Tander
Murphy
Ingall
S Johnson
Bright
S Richards
Canto
Lowndes
Skaife
Bargwanna

The rest were out of the points.

As much as I would like to comment on the first race, I haven't seen it yet.

In the points after race Two
First fifteen were
R Kelly
T Kelly
J Courtney
Ingall
Whincup
S Johnson
Skaife
S Richards
W Davison
Tander
Lowndes
Holdsworth
Jason Richards
Bright
McConville.

Both the SBR drivers "buzzed" their engines by a thousand revs or more in the closing stages.
The new Holdens seem very kind to their tyres.
The in-car camera showed Skaife was having to work hard all weekend.
By contrast Courtney seemed to have all the time in the world.
A pretty fair weekend for Bright, first time out with his own team.
DJR seem to have picked up their game well, Steves car is carrying a lot less weight.
FPR have work to do.
By mid-season the Holdens are going to be hard to beat, anywhere.

I did get to watch the first race. I only got to see news highlights of the second race. The fact that there were no safety cars in the first race was a mixture of luck, good driving, luck, drivers not panicing when things went wrong and luck.

It did look like there were big crowds for both races.
