The number one most shocking thing from this race has to be the fact that the Toyotas held their positions. And a close number two is that Ferrari is not anywhere near quick enough.

Well done Freddy, Jarno and Nick.

Looks like it's gonna be a fun season.

wow, Freddy looks beat up there on that podium. he needs some water and then some beer. fix him right up.

is there a reason Jarno didn't spray the champagne?

Indeed Toyota have made a big step however I suspect them to be strong on some track and not others. Renault however look strong everywhere.

Ferrari have a lot of work ahead of them. Just like McLaren and Williams had last year!

Congratulations To Fernando and RENAULT Very Happy

Great performance from TOYOTA, they fully deserve this and prove the doubters wrong.... Razz Razz Jarno was better than Ralf all weekend, wasnt he? But then he matched Fernando in the first half of 2004 as well. Can he maintain his form this year Question

Solid drive from Nick, but is he under a teamorder or not Question

MCLAREN still dont quite get it right. Juan Pablo came away better but he may be worried to become a No.2 driver for the first time in his career Shocked Kimi was unlucky but FAST Cool Very Happy

Congratulations also to David and REDBULL Shocked

The FERRARI has just one major problem and thats not the car itself Idea
As some of you folks rightly said - Malaysia, the Bridgestone melting pot Embarassed Crying or Very sad Unfortunately the F2005 doesnt solve this, or does it?
Anyway, you win some and you lose some - hopefully the tyres will be evenly matched through the season. Rolling Eyes

Towards the end of the race, the rear wing on Michael's car was getting blacker. Any idea what that was from ? Oil ?

Agreed.

I'm still trying to get info on this!! ->CanadaAir<- is 'a fire fighting Co. using huge water-bombers to help put out forest fires. So this person was not a rescue pilot but a water-bomber ( a very very dangerious job). These people skim lakes loading water into the plane's open bay doors and then fly off to the forest fire and drop their load.

Not one word here in Canada about this. Strange!!!!!

The best info I managed to find is on this site http://www.news24.com/News24/World/News/0,,2-10-1462_1678795,00.html

The fire fighting plane (Canadair MI-DPCK) hit power lines it appears and crashed into a house. Both pilots Stefano Bandini and Claudio Rosseti were killed. Both have recently come back from Sri Lanka helping in the tsunami aid effort. Crying or Very sad

Canadair was Canada's leading aircraft manufacturer until 1986 when Bombardier acquired it. They did all sorts of aircraft (from Canadair history site - http://home.ca.inter.net/~rapickler/)
