My Man Button...
Go on then, shoot me down in flames on my first post, but for some reason, I've become a big Button fan. Perhaps it's because he's English, and because I fell out with Williams years ago when they got rid of Damon Hill, the new World champion, and perhaps because Coulthard was such a fish out of water at McClaren, before his excellent move to Red Bull, but I really think that this is going to be Button's year. I think he's got the talent, definately, without doubt, but with no stoooopid contract nonsesne distracting him and more importantly his mechanics, and with Barricello keem to prove who's lead driver, I think that this year the boy Button might have the right attitude to become the great driver he can be.
Any thoughts?

Good to here a voice supporting Button, though I think you might have to be a bit more circumspect than that if you want to make it to your old age. have you read some of the posts in here it can be very unpleasant at times

Have fun keep posting and perhaps we'll attract more Buttonists which will really upset a number of Forumer's here!

Lewis Hamilton & Jenson Button World Champions

Hi Snowy - there is always a lot of anti-Button crappola, but I think this year, judging on testing, he is going to settle the debate either way - so it is pretty much wait and see. I'm not saying he's a Raikonnen or a Schuie, but he's up there in the next group following, and has a better head than Webber, who I'm, incidentally, also a fan of.
Anyway, what's a bit of flak - it's only a computer screen. And passion is a good thing. Nothing wrong is waving our colours and occasionaly jeering at the opposition, although I find F1 is less partisan that say, football. I know I'm bored of Ferrari and Schuie, and can't be amazed by any team that has its cars out at the front in a procession every GP - if that was Buttonm every race, I'd be bored - I like racing! I know I'm disappointed by JPM who is all mouth, and really excited for DC, who also deserves to shine. I hope he gets renewed next year. Anyway starting to ramble a bit.
Can't wait to sat night (in UK), I'm going to be a bit nervous before that first corner - but I always am. It would be great to see Button win and silence some of his critics, but realistically, he has got it all to do.
C'mon Jense!!

For a moment I thought you were really hoisting yourself on your petard
But you might just get away with that comment about mark.
Quite so
Jense will certainly answer his critics one way or tother
I think he'll shine but not because he has no distractions, he seemed oblivious to those distractions and gave some of his best performances when he's contract was up in the air. maybe that is what fires his belly
i don't know but we shall have agood idea by Sunday night
Go Go Jenson
stick it to 'em

Quite so

Go Go Jenson

I'm not sure, all that Williams stuff must have an impact on the team and the mechanics. It's hard to be hundred percent committed when things are in between like that. It's a distraction, and although Button can look and sound cool, he's still a young'un. Still, roll on Sat night!

Jenson has very high hopes for Bahrain but we aren't going to know anything about form until Saturday because the new qualifying rules mean that the engines will have to do an extra 300kilometres on the Saturday. Alonso reckons he'll do ten laps on Friday, Jense if he has any sense will do an in and an out and leave everything up to Antony.
I don't think I can stand to wait that long don't know about you
However we will know soon enough I guess

John Watson doesn't think Jenson's got the fire in the belly to win
'He has so much ability and a style that is a joy to watch, but there's something fundamentally not there.'
I hope his wrong otherwise we'll never be able to show our faces on this F'rum again

As a Webber fan I say you will always be welcome back, but you might want to give the place a miss for a few days if Webber wins before Button.Snowy wrote: I hope his wrong otherwise we'll never be able to show our faces on this F'rum again![]()

Other than that I think it would be good if Button does well this year. I like it when someone proves me wrong. Happens all the time with the missus.
Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.
Jenson was mighty in that race
He over took Rubinho and JPM both twice. He had a clutch problem on the start and if you look at the replay he is stationary for an age and goes into turn one in 9th or 10th place he drives around the outside of everyone and ends up in sixth. If he hadn't been compromised by this start, traffic and JPM I feel sure he would have been on the tail of Schui at the end of this GP. He drove a very fine race indeed and deserved more reward but Kimi deserved more reward also so I guess there was some justice.
I am really looking forward to Jenson making amends in Malaysia. And we haven't long to wait have we?

Yep, very much agree. I'm Offline for another week, but can just anage a Wooo Hooo post. That was a great race for Button! And a great qually. Rubino well off the pace made me think he'd had a higher fuel load, but he pitted before Jenson! Still too early to tell what's what, but surely no-one can think Barricelo is a better driver than Jenson?
I know a a lot of people dislike Button, and that is why everyone wants Rubino to beat him. Personally I dislike Schumacher, but I have to admire his driving ability. I just can't see how anyone can possibly think Rubino is a better driver than Button. Button is a great driver - but is he a brilliant driver? is the question - we will have to see, but on last weekend's performace, he certainly is up there with the big boys and a win a definate possibility this season.
By the way, I like Webber as well - he had a great race.
Won't be online again for a while now. Let's hope next weekend is as exciting.

Um, Snowy, I am not trying to rain on your parade BUT

Barrichello was driving with a missing gear,
JPM had an engine mapping problem which left his car stuck in "super economy mode" in other words he could not use full throttle.
