Post by Ed » Tue Oct 11, 2005 10:19 pm

Following Kimi Raikkonen's win in Japan from 17th, here is a list of drivers to have won a race from a grid position lower than 15th:

From 16th place:
Michael Schumacher - Belgium 1995 (Grid of 24)
Jackie Stewart - South Africa 1973 (Grid of 25)

From 17th place:
Kimi Raikkonen - Japan 2005 (Grid of 20)
John Watson - USA East 1982 (Grid of 26)

From 18th place:
Rubens Barrichello - Germany 2000 (Grid of 22)

From 19th place:
Bill Vukovich - Indianapolis 1954 (Grid of 33)

And finally from 22nd place:
John Watson - USA West 1983 (Grid of 26)

No driver yet has ever won a race from dead last on the grid!
