Relations between Sauber and Ferrari are strained ever since Sauber signed the testing deal and now the presisting rumour that they go BMW or be bought by.

No, now Bridgestone and Ferrari will look for a technicality to unsettle Michelin (like 2003 :D ). This time it won't happen though

That would be the last thing this season needs.

It looks promising and no not because Ferrari are struggling but because the other teams have stepped up. There is enough politics going around.

Paul Ricard test data added: Anthony Davidson driving the BAR007 set the fastest time so far this year with a time of 1:04.176 on the 23rd of March ... report

Note: The Paul Ricard circuit is highly configurable with up to 40 different configurations. This time was set on configuratiuon 3Esc (3.818km).
F1 teams didn't use this configuration last year and therefore times cannot be compared.

Hard to know really. Most were doing 15 to 18 lap stints but the high number of laps done by the BAR team is a positive for them no doubt.

What is interesting is that Button's record lap was the first of 6 laps on that stint!. Several other Michelin runners had the same pattern setting their quickest time at the start of the stint rather than towards the end. They are obviously testing a tyre compound that is has a lot of grip in the first lap!.

And none towards the end of the race, relying on bridgestone to not improve!
Could be a very risky tactic

I'd say they are happy with the consistency of the tyre and now they are trying to improve the grip early in the race. The Michelin engineers must have noticed Barrichello's pace early in the race despite having more fuel than most!

Both Renault's did set their fastest times towards the end of their stints
