G'day all.
In Malasia.....while Webber had a relatively good race....it was marred
by a mechanical problem. Official explanation was that.... "the air pump
was the cause."

" AIR PUMP ? "

What part of the engine system is it ?
fuel system ?
lubrication ?
hydrolics ?
? ? ? ? ?
Can someone enlighten me please ?

Hello Bob,

This is the air pump which forms part of the fuel system. I believe this pressurises the fuel tank to ensure constant flow of fuel until the last lap. If that fails or isn't reliable, there would be potential of fuel not getting to the engine. Hence they had to stop Webber early to ensure he has enough fuel and for most of the race it appears he had more fuel that he should have.

Would be nice of those in charge of public relations to be a liiiiiiiittle bit
more specific in their terminology use.

I did read it a while ago, back in the stone age.

Hmmm.......maybe that's what RB techies thought......keep it
