Your predictions for the 2008 F1 Season - Drivers
The 2008 season is about to start so let us see who you think will win the Drivers' Title this year.
Can Raikkonen win back to back titles ? or will Massa prove that he can be a World Champion ?
Will Hamilton be even more impressive in his second season ? Can Kovalainen take the challenge ?
Are either of the BMW Sauber drivers capable of mounting a challenge
and finally with Alonso back at Renault, will he be a contender this season ?
Go ahead and vote then tell us who you voted for and how many points will the title winner score by replying to this thread. You can also add your predicted top 5 drivers in 2008
Voting closes on the Friday of the Australian Grand Prix.
(The list above is sorted according the 2007 results. If there are any other drivers you want added to the poll let us know)

Well I tried to vote and some how wasn't counted. Not that it matters much.
To try to pick the numbers in the WDC after last season!!
I believe Kimi will win the WDC again this year; he has a team and a car to
make it happen.
I believe he will be pressed by Lewis, who also has a car and a team of the
quality required.
I don't think this will be a happy year for Fernando, but what points he manages will be strictly owing to his talents as a driver.
Let's see: there are 18 races so the top of the podium yields 180 points
last year Kimi got 5 wins; this year he'll get 7, so 70 plus three or four
seconds for 24-36 and a few thirds (Kimi tends to podium or DNF)... I'm
going to guess 124 points...
So.
Raikkonen: 124
Hamilton: 102
Massa: 98
Alonso: 76
and that's enough tempting of the racing gods! (It will be fun to look back on this!)
Cheers!

To be honest I thought I'd be the only one voting for Alonso but I see Lloyd is also thinking that way
He went to McLaren and finished just 1 point behind in the championship and had he not been penalised in Hungary he would have won it (I am actually happier that neither him nor Hamilton won it due to all the spying!!)
Anyway, he is back to his old team, a team that managed to beat Ferrari with Michael Schumacher. Alonso can surely do it again
It will be tough and very tight. I suspect that Alonso won't win as many races as Raikkonen but he will be more consistent so here goes:
Alonso - 115
Raikkonen - 112
Massa - 85
Rosberg - 82
Kovalainen - 78
Hamilton - 72 (no this is not in error
)
Surprises: Alonso, Roserg and Sutil
Dissapointements: Hamilton, Heidfeld, Kubica and Trulli

I'm back and yes supporting Alonso "The Cute" in the Ferrari!

I think at the end of the year down in Interlagos, that McLaren's Lewis Hamilton will avenge the mistakes he made last year and knock the Iceman off the top step for the WDC in 2008..........
Just as, IMO, McLaren will want to prove that 2007 is truly in the past, I think Hamilton's going to go out and prove that, not only was 2007 not a fluke, but that he can indeed hold his own against the Alonsos' and Raikkonens' of the sport; it'll be a close battle all year but I think Hamilton will win........
How will they finish?
1--Hamilton, 118 pts(4 wins)
2--Raikkonen, 114 pts(5 wins)
3--Alonso, 113 pts(5 wins)
4--Massa, 89 pts(2 wins)
5--Heldfeld, 86 pts(2 wins)

If there is anything to go by from the pre-season tests it will be another FERRARI-MCLAREN fight. All 4 drivers stand a fair chance of winning the WDC with a slight edge for LEWIS over HEIKKI and a very open situation at FERRARI, where FELIPE was marginally quicker in most of last years GPs while he was also the less lucky one.
Id say its a great chance for FELIPE to come out on top this year.
The next packages battling for 3rd in the WCC are going to be WILLIAMS, RENAULT and hopefully BMW and I feel NICO is going to be the "best of the rest" just a shade ahead of FERNANDO(who wont have a car for winning not to talk about becoming WDC) and ROBERT. NICK seems less able to adapt to the current package, NELSON looks off the pace..
Hopefully the remaining teams wont be much behind with a fair chance of points or even podium finishes. SEBASTIAN will excel from that particular pack, just like JENSON and TIMO.
Virtual standings:
1.FELIPE 122(7 wins)
2.KIMI 109(6 wins)
3.LEWIS 99(5 wins)
4.HEIKKI 80(1 win)
5.NICO 68
6.FERNANDO 63
7.ROBERT 59
8.NICK 48
Let it commence...
