MotoGP race set for Indy
According to Speed Channel's resident NA open-wheel curmudgeon, Robin Miller, officials with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and MotoGP have, to quote the article, "finalized" a deal to host a round of the MotoGP beginning in 2008(hence the reason the thread title says "not confirmed"). The most interesting thing about the above article IMO is that, from the sounds of it, that there will likely be 2 MotoGP rounds, one at Indianapolis(if confirmed) and the second to remain at Laguna Seca.

Track description according to tracksideonline.com.....................
~~As the MotoGP competitors start a lap at the Brickyard, they'll be going in the same direction as the cars do on the oval(counter-clockwise) before reaching turn 1, a sweeping left-hander that is followed by a short-straight to a 90-degree right(turn 2). Exiting 2, riders immediately hit another quick right-turn(3) followed by a sharp turn 4..........afterwards they'll proceed down the short-chute btwn. Indy Oval(IO) turns 1 & 2. Riders will re-enter the infield section at turn 5, a sweeping fast left located just before the apex to IO-2. Leaving turn 5, it's a quick jaunt down to turn 6, another 90-degree left. This takes them onto another short-straight leading to turn 7, a quick right to yet another short-straight then onto turn 8. Leaving 8, they'll proceed to another 90-deg. turn(9) which takes them onto Hulman Blvd. Riders will then blast down Hulman braking heavily into a curling, left-hand turn 10 which rolls out after a quick straight into a 180-deg. right-turn(11). After yet another short straight, it's through the quick left at turn 12, then down another short straight to turn 13. Afterwards, it's down to turn 14, a sweeping left that feeds the riders into, wait for it...........another short straight into turn 15, then through turn 16 and down the front-stretch over the "Yard of Bricks".
