SILLY SEASON 2007

Post by Julian Mayo » Tue Apr 24, 2007 1:51 pm

The silly season has commenced.
The rumours with some credibility are:
Ralf will be looking for a seat, in anything!.
Heifield will be re-signed by BMW very soon, or will tell them to!!! .......and take Ralf's seat
The Barra is gooorn !
Wurz had best look for another job, outside F1
DC will just have to choose another way of keeping busy, unless he beats MW home in every race from here on in.
Bye Bye Fisi.
Will there be an American in F1 next year?

Some of these moves would be silly! Why wouldn't BMW re-sign Heidfeld at this point? He is the team right now. There should be no changes in their line up.

What issue could Williams have with Alex Wurz? He is 3 races into the season, and judging by their performance last year, who would think Williams is ready to topple Ferrari and McLaren or even Renault? Wurz is perhaps the best tester around, and he is a pretty darn good racer. There should be no changes in that line up either for next year.

Why does Fisichella have so many haters? (I'm not saying you are one of them, Julian.) He is the most consistent points scorer in F1 even if he does win all the time. Teams get their money from Ecclestone based on their points total. so Fisi ain't going anywhere despite Flavio Briatore's yak.

BTW: There is an American in F1. Scott Speed! (If you want to get technical about it, Felipe Massa is an american albeit a south american) :)

Fernando Alonso is currently the best... Period!!!

BTW: There is an American in F1. Scott Speed! Who knows if he will be there next year. The two that could get a shot include Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal. They have strong name recognition and ties to F1 still. (If you want to get technical about it, Felipe Massa is an american albeit a south american) :)

I should have said, will there still be, or will there be another American.
I agree about Wurtz, but Sir Frank........?.
My guess is Heidfield's manager is trying to get a done deal with BMW.
I reckon poor old Fisi is still a pretty good steerer, if he goes methinks he will be replaced by someone better. (IMHO)

Nah, I don't wanna get technical about it, up here American means USA,
those from the South Island of the Americas are referred to by their Country., eg Massa the Brazilian

I thought he was quite ok last year. Good pace, some rookie errors..

but did he learn from that? Or was the pressure put on him by the team leaders not such a wise move and he will show improvement once he`s settled?

Sebastian Bourdais is rumoured to already have Scott's seat for 2008.
Albers will probably be replaced by Winklehock Jnr, Unless Van Der Garde gets the seat 8)

I could handle Sebastian Bourdais in F1. I think he has the finesse to pilot an F1 beast.

Bourdais and Vettel may be two of the better drivers to land a racing seat.

Come to think of it we have been very lucky as far as the new entries are concerned:

Kubica
Hamilton
Kovalainen
Bourdais
Vettel

That's a cool list right there...

So it may seem. But I have confidence in that fella. He needs a few races to prove himself. On the other hand competition like Hamilton doesn't exactly help...
