Yup, the only precautions I can take are to load up the Ute. I was with the Disaster relief organisation, they reckon this whole area is indefensiblejacfan wrote:Well hopefully will stay that way.

Been evacuated 3 times that I remember. Never a fun time.
This house is much more defencable than the last one which is nice.
Helped move a Koal once from an area that was due for hazard reduction. If anyone thinks they are cute and cudly they are very wrong.

Ok, Lewis may win the WDC in 07, but Sato will beat him in 08.

They are cute and cuddly sometimes... but like all animals they are unpredictable.... treat all animals with respect and caution.... even man's best friend will bite!!!rah wrote:Been evacuated 3 times that I remember. Never a fun time.

According to http://www.news.com.au/ (if you want to see the entire article.. go to the archives if it is not today and look for the heading..." BBQ may have caused fatal fire."........the bushfires are in four states.
You just wonder when this will all end.As day 50 of the fire fight hits tomorrow, in addition to the death of one man, the extent of the fire fight includes:
• 39 houses destroyed.
• 8000 fire alerts issued.
• 14,500 volunteer firefighters deployed.
• 4794 DSE, Parks Victoria, interstate and international staff on the ground.
• 1200 tankers and more than 2000 other vehicles in use.
• More than 12,000 flying hours in 36 aircraft.
• 1.05 million hectares burnt.
Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief economist Steven Wojtkiw tipped the cost of the fires could run into hundreds of millions of dollars.

Exactly. more screaming and more peeing though. If I had the choice of trying to move a 2M lace monitor or a koala I know which one I would choose.Julian Mayo wrote:Let me think....it went something like this......hiss, growl, bite, scratch, pee scream, rah wrote:Been evacuated 3 times that I remember.
